We experienced 4 1/2 long, difficult years of struggling to get pregnant and add children to our family. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was young so we knew it may have to try “a little harder” to have children, but we had no clue what God had in store for us. We tried for a year on our own then went through various infertility treatments including Clomid, Femara, IUIs, injectable medications and embryo adoptions. We adopted 4 embryos and did two rounds of FETs – both of which resulted in very early miscarriages. God did not grow our family through pregnancy but he was so gracious in giving us two sons through adoption.
My heart always breaks when I hear of couples struggling to get pregnant. I know it can be isolating and confusing and painful. My hope and prayer is that by sharing our struggle, we can encourage you wherever you are.
Regardless of what has happened and will happen in your story and ours, I know that God is good. He revealed His ultimate love for us on the cross – by sending his only Son Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins, and bring us into his family. Even when earthly hopes and dreams seem to be crushed – Jesus Christ is the Solid Rock on whom we can stand.
Here’s our story…
